2005 NSA
National Rules
for Reclassification:
Starting in 2005
The entire roster of the Super World Champions must
ALL move up in classification.

The following teams must move up at least
one (1) Classification
(a) Teams that finish in the top two- (2) or the Regional or the top three-
(3) in the World Series
or in the top 10% of the National
Regional and World Series Tournaments which ever is greater.
(b) All State Champions
(c) Each Super N.I.T. Champion.
(d) All qualifying teams, accepting a berth to the Super World Series
Tournament. (Includes all at-large teams)
NOTE:
Teams that have played as an At-Large team will have their Classification
re-viewed by the Zone
Vice-President and/or the State
Director before their Classification is changed.
*NOTE: A team
must have a minimum of five- (5) players or any combination of five- (5) players
from its
preceding years roster or rosters
must move up in classification. The coachs name should also be included on the
roster.
**NOTE: All teams must
appeal for re-classification in writing, even if they retain less than five- (5)
players from the
previous years roster. A copy of the
teams 2004 roster should be included with the appeal.
***NOTE: Players/teams not participating in the NSA program for one- (1) or more seasons will
retain the Classification they were moved up to prior to taking an absence from the National Softball Association
(e) The Zone Vice-President and/or the State Director have the authority to
move other teams up in Class if necessary.
A Zone Vice-President and/or the
State Director may move any team up in Class, at any time, due to the advanced
play of the team in question.
*NOTE: Teams that may appeal their re-classification are:
a). State Champions
b). Super World Series NIT Winner
c). Top two- (2) teams in the National
Regional or the top three- (3) teams in the World Series
or in the top 10% of the National Regional and World Series Tournaments which
ever is greater
NOTE:
With the provision that there were LESS than sixteen (16) teams that
participated in the tournament
or teams that
finished the Super World Series with records of 0-2 or 1-2.
*NOTE: The above appeal process must be presented in writing and must be approved by the appropriate State Director, Zone Vice-President and finally the National Office.
**NOTE:
Teams that are required to move up with NO CHANCE OF
APPEAL in Class B are:
a). World Series Winners and
b). The top ten
percent (10%) of the Super World Series Winners
***NOTE:
All other teams listed above can make an appeal in writing to their appropriate
State Director and/or Zone Vice-President.
****NOTE:
Teams that are required to move up with NO CHANCE OF
APPEAL in Class C, D, and E are:
a). Winner of State Championship with
16 or more teams
b). Winner of Super World NIT with 16
or more teams
c). Top two (2) teams in the Regional
Tournament with 16 or more teams
d). Top three- (3) teams in the World
Series Tournament with 16 or more teams.
e). All teams that finish 2-2 or better
at the Super World Series Tournament
*****NOTE:
All other teams moved up can appeal in writing for re-classification with the
appropriate State Director and/or Zone Vice-President.
