Michigan Adult Teams can PAY for selected tournaments ONLINE by Charge.
Teams can also pay for their NSA registration fee ONLINE by charge.
Teams can enter tournaments online and Mail payments, but must meet all deadlines.  
Certain tournaments will still require an official NSA Post Season Entry Form and are marked as such.

The Grand Slam Tournament Series,
is a series of Tournaments your
team can play in to earn points toward Travel Expenses.  
Each Tournament is a WORLD SERIES and SUPER REGIONAL QUALIFIER.  

 


Hit your own Ball!

NSA Approved- OPTIC YELLOW NSA stamped black stitch ball.
 .44 core/400 lb compression or less and the Defensive team and/or Umpire must be able to Identify 
the Manufacturers core rating or the ball can be removed from play
.

Offensive Team: Puts ball in play at the beginning of EACH inning.
      Offensive Team: Replaces the ball each time the ball is hit out of play.
Balls will be sold at each site or see "Softball Prices" for team pricing.

 

MEN'S GRAND SLAM SERIES

Divisions:   Men’s “C”   ***   Men’s “D”   ***   Men’s “E”

  in 2008:
Point Leader in each STATE for Men’s B – C – D- E
On 9-1-08 will Receive an Unpaid BERTH to the SUPER WORLD
Points are from the NSA National Point System ONLY
No added bonus points in your state will count toward the awarding of the Super Berth.
Berth will be awarded to the Highest Point Leader as of 9-1-08 that has not already received a Super World Berth.
Berth cannot be passed down.   Team MUST meet the following Criteria:
Team must have played in a minimum of 5 Tournaments, one of which must have been State.
(At LEAST - 4 Tournaments + State Championships)

The National Point System + Bonus Points earned will be used to seed Michigan State Championships.

 

Grand Slam Entry Fees: $150

Teams supply balls and $12 per game per team umpire fee paid at field at game time.
Teams supply NSA Approved Optic Yellow Black Stitch - 12" .44 core/400 lb or less softballs at all times.
2008 NSA Registration fee is $25 and must be completed online.

 

AWARDS
Awards: 1st – 3rd Sponsors minimum - Supplied by Complex/Director
Individuals – 1st Place minimum – Supplied by Complex/Director

Complexes / Directors – Will supply ALL Awards and
they will be required to submit what they will be awarding and posted on website.


BERTHS & TRAVEL Money Earned:

Grand Slam Travel Money
One Division:  C - D - E
1st Place -
World Series Berth with $15 to Worlds & Regional Berth with $5 to Regional
2nd Place - Regional Berth and $5 to Regional
3rd Place Regional Berth - no travel money
Travel Money is based on the number of teams participating in the Grand Slam Leg.  If the Grand Slam tournament
you win has 10 teams participating, you would have $150 in Travel Money waiting for you at the Tournament it was given for.
Your team must participate in the Tournament to receive your travel money,
 it is given to teams after they participate in their first game at the Tournament for which they received it.
 

COMBO DIVISIONS:  B/C - C/D - D/E
1st Place - Upper Class:  World & Regional Berths with $10 to Worlds
2nd Place - Upper Class: Regional Berth with $5 to Regional
1st Place - Lower Class: World & Regional Berth with $15 to Worlds
2nd Place - Lower Class: Regional Berth with $5 to Regional
3rd Place - Lower Class:  Regional Berth - no travel money

 

MEN’S C/D/E OVERALL GRAND SLAM CHAMPIONS AWARDS  
Overall Champions are the teams with Highest POINTS
Including the National Points System + MI Bonus Points FINALIZED 9-1-08

1st Place - $250 towards World Series Travel & Grand Slam Champions Jackets & Patches
2nd Place - $200 towards World Series Travel
3rd Place - $150 towards World Series Travel
4th Place - $100 towards World Series Travel
Your team must participate in the World Series Tournament to receive your travel money,
 it is given to teams after they participate in their first game at the Worlds.

2008 Michigan Men's Tournament BONUS POINTS

BONUS POINTS WILL BE ADDED AFTER WORLD SERIES:
         Grand Slam or  NIT's - Any Combination of these tournaments

            Play 4 Tournaments - 100 Bonus Points 
            Play 5 Tournaments -  150 Bonus Points
            Play 6  Tournaments - 200 Bonus Points
            Play 7  Tournaments -  250 Bonus Points
            Play 8  Tournaments - 300 Bonus Points
            Play 9 Tournaments - 350 Bonus Points
            Play 10 Tournaments - 400 Bonus Points
  Note: Participating in Grand Slams, NIT's, Regional & Worlds count toward Total Tournaments.

 PLAY UP IN CLASSIFICATION for a Weekend and get BONUS POINTS:
          Men's "B" State - C teams can get 250 BONUS POINTS.
          Men's "C" State - D teams can get 250 BONUS POINTS.
          Men's "D" State - E teams can get 250 BONUS POINTS.

The National Point System + Bonus Points earned will be used to seed MI State Championships.
