ballparks if deemed necessary to conduct the tournament.

TEAMS MUST HAVE ALL INFORMATION TO THEIR STATE DIRECTOR BY THIS DATE!
It is important to follow these guidelines.   LATE ENTRIES, INCOMPLETE ENTRIES, ENTRIES WITH
MISSING INFORMATION, or Entries NOT Submitted through your State Director may be returned and
your team may not be accepted for entry into this tournament
.

 
        TEAMS MUST  have the following information TO THEIR STATE DIRECTOR no later then JULY 13th.
            1.  Copy of 2004 Official NSA ONLINE Roster - Completely filled out will ALL signatures
            2.  Copy of 2004 Team Insurance Certificate
   
       3.  Official NSA Entry Form and Team Information Sheet - Completely filled out w/NSA # AND signatures.
            4.       Entry Fee of $300.00 in form of Money Order/Cashiers Check made payable to NSA

It is the Managers responsibility to insure that all of the above information meets all deadlines and requirements.
Your State Director will then verify and approve your team’s entry, and forward it to the Tournament Director by deadline listed in this packet.

 

ROSTERS & INSURANCE:  Your Official NSA ONLINE Youth Roster, along with your entry form, entry fee, and
PROOF OF TEAM INSURANCE must be sent through your State Director for APPROVAL.  Teams will NOT be allowed
to participate without a fully complete NSA ONLINE roster (this means ALL signatures), AND A COPY OF TEAM INSURANCE POLICY.  
Roster and Proof of Insurance must be turned into your State Director by July 13th, 2004 for verification and approval. 
Names will NOT be added to any roster at the tournament site for ANY reason.

 Birth Certificates – Driver’s License:  Coach or manager must have proof of age on hand at all times, either copy 
of Birth Certificate or Government Issue Picture ID.  NSA does NOT need copies.   Please be prepared for spot checks at
any time during the tournament.  Managers should also have on hand a copy of tournament roster and copy of insurance certificate.

 

CONDITIONS: The tournament committee reserves the right to rule on matters as they may occur, including any deemed
necessary to complete the tournament.  This includes changing the tournament format, which may include game times, 
playing fields or dates, including dropping the loser’s bracket if necessary, due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, etc.).  
The Tournament Directors, committee, sponsors, and hosts assume that all players are competing at their own risk and will
not be liable for accidents or injuries.  Entry in to this tournament constitutes agreement of these conditions.

          All info including schedules will be given to coaches at check in.
                       
If you must miss the Check In due to travel arrangements or travel problems, 
                       Please check in during the Manager's Meeting.

 
   
MANAGERS MEETING:  Saturday, July 24th   2:00 PM - 4:00 PM 
                                               Under the BIG TENT at Berliner Park - refreshments served
                                               Limit of two (2) Coach/Manager representatives per team.
                  
  It is VERY IMPORTANT to have a representative at the Managers Meeting.  This is the only time
                     that details regarding the World Series will be discussed.  Any last minute changes or updates will be
                     announced at this meeting.

                    Coaches that May miss CHECK IN AND  the MANAGER'S MEETING:
                    Check in with an NSA Director at the opening ceremonies on where to pick up your information packet.

   OPENING CEREMONIES:   Saturday, July 24th at Cooper Stadium   Everyone is Invited to attend!
                                                     Pin Trading at Cooper Stadium between  5:30 - 8:30 PM
                                                     Ceremonies begin at 8:30 PM - Fireworks immediately following
                                FIREWORKS WERE CANCELED BY THE FIRE MARSHALL DUE TO THE WINDS at the Stadium.
                                
                     Cooper Stadium is located at   1155 W. Mound St., Columbus, 43223.
                                                                 
  MISS NSA for 2004 will be announced during opening ceremonies.
                                                                   
Laura Bluthardt from North Branch, Michigan will be singing the National Anthem.
         
                              Teams will parade on the field during opening ceremonies.  Bring team banners and/or flags.
                               Watch for more details as the tournament comes closer.

   PLAY BEGINS:   Sunday  Morning, July 25th, 2004

 

PLAYING RULES: NSA rules will govern all play in strict accordance with the NSA Rule Book.

GAMES

1.    PLEASE ALLOW AMPLE TIME TO ARRIVE AT FIELDS FOR YOUR GAMES -
      EXPECT DELAYS DUE TO EARLY MORNING TRAFFIC AND GATE PERSONNEL SELLING/CHECKING PASSES.

2.  All teams must be present at the field Thirty (30) Minutes prior to the game time posted on the bracket
     board, READY TO TAKE THE FIELD.  Games will begin up to 15 minutes early if field is available.

3.  Tournament Director could move games to a different field posted on the brackets based on field
     availability.  Just because your field might be behind it does NOT change your game time.  Teams
     could be moved to a vacant field to keep tournament moving and games on time.

 UNIFORMS: To be in strict accordance with NSA team dress code.  NO METAL -OR-  METAL TIPPED CLEATS!

 SOFTBALL:   Baden NSA black stitched optic yellow softballs are provided. Umpires will control the balls and umpire
decisions are final on softballs.

NSA Approved Equipment List:

    BATS:   Only NSA approved bats will be allowed.  Check the National Website for a complete and up to date 
    listing of approved equipment.   www.playnsa.com  click on:  Approved Equipment
    Please check bats by Manufacturer - Model NUMBER and NAME, if a bat is not posted 
    on the
approved list, it will NOT be allowed.
  
 Note: It is the coaches/players' responsibility to check their bats to the list prior to bringing them into play.
            
You may contact the manufacturer to inquire on the status of an unlisted bat.

HELMETS:  All batter-runners will be required to wear helmets.  For all youth fast pitch, approved face
protection is
highly recommended
.  

PROTEST: Umpire judgment calls are final.  There will be a $75.00 CASH ONLY protest fee.
  If protest is ruled in your favor, your money will be returned.

SWAPS:   Each team is requested to bring individual “swaps” to exchange with the first team they play. 
These can be any small token, such as a souvenir from your area of the country.  The swaps will be exchanged
at the beginning of each team’s first ball game.  In cases where a team has a bye, managers should find another
team with a bye to share their swaps with.  Team managers of these teams should get together and arrange
a time for exchanges.

All players on roster and a maximum of THREE COACHES per team will be admitted free.
Roster player passes and coach passes will be enclosed in the manager’s packet at check in.
No other pass is valid except NSA Hall of Fame membership card.  
If you cannot attend check in, the manager may pick up passes at the managers meeting. 
Tournament pass will be sold at a discount only until July
15th.   Order must be RECEIVED in office by JULY 15th.
Enclosed with this packet is a copy of the pre-tournament discount ticket order form.  See link above.
Passes ordered in advance will be mailed to you.

If at all possible, purchase Tournament passes prior to the day of the tournament.  Passes are SOLD and CHECKED as vehicles
pull into the facility.  It will be faster if the majority of vehicles already have their passes purchased and readily available to 
present the passes to the gate personnel.

ALL COACHES/PLAYERS/SPECTATORS MUST SHOW THEIR PASSES EVERY TIME THEY ENTER THE PARK!
PASSES WILL BE CHECKED WHILE PLAYERS and SPECTATORS ARE IN THEIR VEHICLES AS THEY DRIVE INTO THE FACILITY. 
PLEASE HAVE PASSES READY TO SHOW THE GATE PERSONNEL.
DO NOT LEAVE THE PASSES IN THE TRUNK OR ATTACHED TO THE PLAYERS BAGS - YOU WILL BE ASKED TO GET THEM OUT.

Individual Player Trophies -  For First, Second, Third and Fourth Places

               1st - 9th (First through Ninth Place) will receive SUPER WORLD SERIES BERTHS:
               Note:  Berths awarded to the 1st Place team in the WORLD SERIES are PAID berths. 
            
   The Tournament Director of the World Series PAYS the berths awarded to the 1st Place teams.
               ALL Teams are required to submit a $250 check upon acceptance and submit with entry form. 
               The first place team will receive a refund for their bond check ($250 check) upon the teams’ attendance
              
at the Super World Series.
               Berths may be passed down if declined by a higher finishing team, all passed berths are UNPAID.
               Berths will only be passed down through the 16th Place.     

                All Super World Series Berths must be accepted prior to August 13, 2004.

MISS NSA Contest If you wish to submit a candidate for the Annual Miss NSA Eastern World Series, the

PRACTICE FIELDS/Scrimmage Games:  Teams may call for Field reservations starting Monday, July 12th.

BATTING CAGESHours 12:00 Noon to 8:30 pm at Berliner and Anheuser Busch Parks.
Berliner Cage will be open extended hours from 9:00 am to 8:30 pm the week of the tournament.
Berliner Park, with brand new pitching machines is located at 325 Greenlawn Ave.  Anheuser Busch
Park is located at 4990 Olentangy River Road.  Tokens are $2.00 for 20 pitches or call the cage to
reserve team practice.  Fifteen minutes of Practice is $7.50, thirty minutes is $15.00 and one hour
is $25.00.  The North Cage phone is 614-645-6746.  The South Cage phone is 614-645-3280.

AIRPORT:
Port Columbus International Airport, located just 10 minutes east of downtown

Complex Rules:  Teams must keep the park clean and orderly during practices and during
scheduled tournament event time.  Trash containers are provided.  Please use them in order to
keep the park clean for other users.
No Alcohol is permitted in city parks.
TEAM SHADE TENTS ARE WELCOME.
Parking on grass in not permitted.  Any vehicles parked on grass are subject to tickets.
Due to the large number of attendees expected, please NO PETS

*** Teams -- Water Coolers welcome - Please bring water for your team or you may purchase water at the concessions.

A Photographer has been assigned to your team.  They will find you BEFORE your 1st or 2nd game.

There will be a photographer at the sales tent Sunday through Wednesday if you wish to come by
and have your photo made there.

If your team has not been shot by Tuesday, please come to the Sales Tent to have it made. 
NO PHOTOS WILL BE SHOT AFTER WEDNESDAY.

Coaches:  Please cooperate by letting the Photographer have a few minutes to get the picture.
Please allow us to get a good setup so the parents will be happy.

Thanks for your cooperation - we know the parents, coaches, and players love the photos & plaques!
It makes a great Memory!

We have our labs set up for 1 day processing - They should be ready by the pin swap party on Monday Night.

We will print enough photos for each person in the photo including coaches. 
If there are 20 people in photo, 20 prints available.  IF YOU WANT EXTRA PRINTS for Grand Parents or
Sponsors, Please TELL THE PHOTOGRAPHER WHEN THE PHOTO IS TAKEN
!
Parents can come to the Photo Tent - Look at the Photo If they like it, Purchase it. 
$20.00 for the photo in the Souvenir Plaque - You take it with you - NO MAILING.
